Well, this is my second to last week for my summer internship with Michelle. Initially I was really sad, I’ve enjoyed this time staying up to date with media and actually knowing what’s happening and being relevant (thanks to ScoopCharlotte). But then last Thursday Michelle asked, with my schedule permitting, if I wanted to keep doing some work from home. The answer was obviously yes.
So when she gets back from her vacation in Europe (still extremely jealous), she’s going to send me projects for ScoopCharlotte and articles, such as the house of the month, that Susu needs someone to work on. I can’t wait for classes to start so I can start applying the skills I learn in class to work for Michelle!
Speaking of design skills, this morning i was working on a banner for Fundanoodle, and I was getting frustrated because there were certain items and text that had to be on the banner, but I couldn’t format it in a way that I liked or didn’t look tacky. I explained my problem to my friend Chris, and when I showed him my work he said that he liked it. I’ve spent so much time starring at professional jobs that I get mad when my work isn’t in the 100th percentile. I have to remind myself I’m only 20, I’ve only completed 2 years of college, but I’m still a lot better than I give myself credit for.
With the minor sense of renewed confidence, I completed three different banners and put them in the Dropbox for Michelle. I hope one of them gets chosen, but I need to remember to send her the fonts that I used!
