Rain Rain Go Away

  • by

It’s still raining, a lot. After watching the news this morning I’m pretty sure it’s supposed to be rainy until the end of the weekend, so drastic measures have been taken to keep Michelle and I awake: going to Starbucks to do our work.

The only thing is, no matter which Starbucks or coffee shop we go to, we always manage to sit down next to the strangest people having the strangest conversations! Today we sat at a table where there was a woman wearing a wedding veil and an older woman holding a bouquet of flowers… Seems like a small wedding shower to me.

Today I am still focusing a lot on the social media for Scoop Charlotte. I have finished going through The Scoop List of clients and adding their store hours/emails/information in, and now I am going through and resizing all of their pictures and slideshows so that each client’s is the same size. Tedious would be an understatement to describe this process, but having a website that looks clean cut and having photos that are NOT pixilated can go a long way, and so I move forward.

The one nice thing about working on editing The Scoop List is that I am learning a lot places in Charlotte. Though every time I open a client that is a boutique I just want to shop, there are a lot of interesting yoga and Pilates studios and restaurants I wouldn’t have found without going through the list!If you’re visiting Charlotte and need some ideas, Scoop Charlotte can help you out.

Michelle is angrily grumbling at her laptop about trying to test a website with a fake Paypal account, and across Starbucks there is another web designer who is meeting with a client! I used to wonder why people went to coffee shops to do their work, I didn’t know if it was to show off that they were doing work or maybe their wifi was broken, but I guess they go so that the weather won’t make them fall asleep!

I’m also pretty sure this has not just been one of the best days of work, but one of the best days of my summer. Beyond the weather, we went to Chicken Salad Chick for lunch (I love chicken salad) and then to Starbucks to finish our work. To end the day we stopped by a boutique blowout that was being hosted by Scoop Charlotte! Because if there is one thing I am always in the mood for, it’s shopping.

The one funny thing I keep thinking about the weather outside is that, if it isn’t raining, this would be great lighting outside.
